Today we’re checking in on one of our remodeling projects: for a Tudor-style house in Laurelhurst. Two years ago we renovated the kitchen and dining room for this family, and now we’re creating a new master bath and updating the kids’ bathroom. The master bath will have a new layout, an additional window and vanity, and a separate shower and tub. The kids’ bathroom will retain the original cast iron tub and get a new sink, toilet, and updated finishings.
In what will be the master bath, the initial plumbing and electrical systems are nearly complete. Next up are the windows, insulation, and drywall.
The new window will be placed so that one can enjoy the view while soaking in the bathtub.
The space we are remodeling was an addition from the 1970s. Once we opened the walls we could see the original half-timbered siding.
A temporary exterior stair was constructed to keep construction traffic out of the home throughout the project.
