Denny Blaine Tudor Balcony

We just visited a project that is nearing completion. The client wanted to add a second floor balcony to their Tudor style residence in the Denny Blaine neighborhood. The design had to complement the existing house and be historically accurate. Our challenge was to create a design that was supported by the existing structure without adding any columns or disturbing the existing house below.

One of the final pieces to be installed is the balcony railing. All the pieces were designed and detailed by The Johnson Partnership and custom milled at O.B. Williams in Seattle out of mahogany and delivered to the site for final painting and assembly. The last few pieces will be installed in the next few days and copper caps will be added to the large posts supporting the railing.
