An alumni event at the Sigma Kappa Mu Chapter House.

We have been working as historic resources consultants and preservation architects for the Sigma Kappa Mu Chapter house for many years. The Sigma Kappa Mu Chapter house is the only one of the Panhellenic residences (fraternities & sororities) at UW to be both a City of Seattle Landmark and on the National Register of Historic Places. We were invited to an alumni event this summer, where Larry E. Johnson, AIA, gave an impromptu talk about the history of the building and its original architect, Joseph Skoog. It was a fun event, where we were able to inform the Sigma Kappa alumnae not only about the history of the building, but about the preservation strategy, and projects in progress.
